Comments about Rare Amethyst Eau de Parfum Spray:
I never thought I'd be spraying on a parfum as much as I have done so with Rare Amethyst. I even spray it on after a shower. So refreshing, with a scent that doesnt overpower or fade within an hour. It really lasts a long time! When you get as many compliments as I have, you know you've found a winner, and Rare Amethyst is superior to many parfums that cost a fortune.

TL;DR: I love it. At first spritz, I thought, "meh. Just another fruity girly scent", but it grew on me very quickly and I've worn it every day for three weeks, shelving my much pricier Coco Mlle until the weather cools or I get tired of this one. I doubt I will get tired of it, though. The plum starts out bright and sparkling, then turns boozy and dark like a fancy cordial before it gives way to soft, powdery violet and earthy sandalwood. It's linear and honest; no loud or controversial notes to offend clients or coworkers, but I still find it as addictive and sensual as some of my more complex favorites. It's perfect for the office year-round or an evening outing in the summer. I'll have to report back on how it holds up in the winter. I suspect it will still work for the office, but may be a little too soft for holiday parties. Definitely not the most dramatic or sophisticated fragrance in the world, and that suits me just fine. I love big, loud fragrances too, but this is better for everyday, especially at this price. The lasting power is about four hours for me, and I don't generally smell it in my clothes, bedding, or car (my driver side seat belt is permanently scented with Coco Mlle, for example), so I'd call it low sillage. I enjoy a fresh spritz or two on the way home to my husband at the end of the workday. The body wash was a great deal as well, so I bought a bunch of that and love it also. Avon, if you made this in a body powder or purse-sized spray, I would snap them right up.
